The Glenlivet 21 years old

So well knitted...
The most oaky and least floral of the range.
But age particular selection of barrels has achieved a distinguished maturity, almost intimidating.
Sherry notes give additional depth to the distillery character and a cakey sweetness.
Aromas are perfectly malted, especially when The Glenlivet is enjoyed with water.
Wood is well integrated but firmly frames the aromatic palate.
A very special dram to enjoy with dark chocolate and let pleasure linger at night.

Whisky at natural cask strength can be overly powerful and pungent but in this latest creation the Spanish oak and sherry influences of resinous spices (cloves, ginger) are balanced with prune and raisin dried fruits and further complexed with chocolate orange.

As with all expressions of the Macallan the deep mahogany colour is achieved without the addition of artificial colour - further proof that additive free is best.

Glenfiddich 12 years old

A true blast from the past, Glenfiddich 12 years old revives a forgotten taste: a bold, powerful single malt Scotch whisky that captures its native rugged landscape with every mouthful.

What hits you first is a touch of pear in the nose.
On the palate first comes a smoky aroma, then spicy top notes that develop into a characterful blend of sweet fruit with distinctive peaty undertones and a smooth, lingering finish.
