A lovely Spanish drop to check out today - Artero Macabeo 2008 from La Mancha.
Macabeo is a native white grape variety used a lot in the production of Cava which is Spain's bubbly.
Rich in floral on the nose with summer flowers, apple skins, peaches and roasting nuts with a touch of baked earth.
In the mouth it's oily and full with minced up macadamia nuts, fresh nectarine slices and cooked lemon.
The full oily richness is well balanced with this fruity acidity that kicks in with long finish of baked but zingy green apples, a touch of chalky minerality and hot rubber.
A different and very tasty white to enjoy on its own or with a few tapas at 15-18 degrees Celsius.
Enjoyable for a really low price of € 5.
