The Cosmopolitan has a bit of a sordid history, from Miami to London and all over the world.
Perhaps because of this it is made in numerous different ways, some of which are not fit to grace the palate of the least discerning drinker.
This recipe comes originally from Dale De Groff.
1 1/2 shots citrus vodka
1/2 shot Cointreau
1/2 shot cranberry juice
1/2 shot fresh lime juice
a dash of sugar syrup
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker: shake hard, and strain into a chilled martini glass.
Garnish with a twist of orange or lemon peel.
